Adobe Blocks 2 Mod

The Ancient Romans are lauded for inventing cement, which has been one of the basic building materials used by much of the world since it was first created. Cement is great. It’s good for making buildings, roads, sidewalks and more, and if made correctly it can last for hundreds or even thousands of years. Adobe is another material from the ancient world, and the Adobe Blocks 2 mod brings this versatile construction material to the realm of Minecraft. It can be used to create a variety of structures, including furnaces and specialized doors which work for the player, but not for villagers.

You might have noticed the “2” tagged onto the end of the mod name there. That’s because this is actually the second version of the mod, which includes more content than the first and is meant specifically for more recent versions of Minecraft. Now the adobe material can be used for making a set of materials, and even weapons in the form of a sword and rocks used for fighting at a range. There are few other mods which allow you to simply chuck bricks at other payers, except for the Brick mod, and you’ll probably laugh the first time you stone a zombie to death.

Because adobe bricks are essentially made from a mixture of mud, manure and straw in most recipes, adobe isn’t exactly the most durable material in the world. Adobe swords are no replacement for diamond swords, for example. More refined building materials will also weather explosions better than adobe, which is about as strong as stone when compared to all the other materials in Minecraft. If you’re looking to add another level of design to Minecraft, or maybe to build up a believable desert village, you will probably like the Adobe Blocks 2 mod.

I find myself really quite fond of the looks of these blocks, and cross beams which can be suitable for general builds.

The only issue, is while I can probably guess how, I have no idea how to actually get, adobe blocks outside of creative mode.

I don’t know if it’s found randomly in the world, if it’s crafted ect.
Again, if the latter, I can guess how it’s probably made, but I otherwise am completely lost.
I simply don’t have time to do trial and error to find out myself.

If you want good asthetics, and can figure out how to make them in survival, or just in creative, i’d recommend this mod to the general player. It really adds a lot, for how simple it is.

Download NotEnoughItems or JustEnoughItems (depending on which version you are playing on) to see the crafting recipes. Hover over the item in your inventory and press “R” for the recipe and “U” for uses.
