Advanced Genetics Mod for Minecraft 1.7.10

Breeding isn’t really a big part of Minecraft. Sure, you can take two cows, pigs, chickens or other animals and get a baby if you feed them the right food. This can help you set up a farm and get a steady supply of leather, wool, eggs, feathers and other useful items. But the breeding system is skin-deep simple; the animals don’t even have set genders! Unfortunately, the Advanced Genetics mod actually does very little to change breeding in Minecraft. Instead, it allows players to inherit a number of special genes from other entities found in the world. These bestow special abilities on the player.

For example, if you were able to get your hands on some enderman DNA, adding it to your pool of DNA would give you the ability to teleport over long distances, as if you were in fact an enderman. There are genes for less obvious abilities too, like saving your inventory upon character death, or shooting fireballs like a ghast. To get any genes, you must first craft a scraper and then right click the mob of choice with it to collect some skin cells. All the custom blocks added by Advanced Genetics help you to process samples, isolate genes and ultimately inject yourself with monster abilities.

It’s a simple mod, but the possibilities it presents are quite complex. You could literally make a godly Minecraft character if you farm enough of the right monsters, though it would take a long time to do it. You won’t ever become immortal, but with immunity to damage types, teleportation and the ability to reclaim genes lost upon death by storing samples of your blood in handy syringes, you’re pretty much an unstoppable tank.
