Armourer’s Workshop Mod for Minecraft 1.7.10

Capes were a pretty cool addition to Minecraft. While they didn’t really do much besides offer players something to look at, the fact they could be painted with custom designs meant players could use their capes to customize their models to a degree. This is good for a number of things, like separating a group of players into two or more different teams, just to name an example. The Armourer’s Workshop mod aims to let players customize their avatars even further, this time by allowing them to create custom skins and art for their armor items. The mod allows for all this to be done in-game, which is cool.

Everything starts at the equipment cube, or glass equipment cube if you prefer. These blocks are essentially identical except for their looks, and both allow the player to create custom skins in Minecraft. These skins can be saved to the equipment library once created, where they will remain until loaded for use by the player or to be shown to friends or posted on a website somewhere. The Armourer’s Workshop mod also features mannequins which can be put into a number of poses, so designers can see what their graphics look like on simulated bodies.

The craftable guide book will help you to get started, but there’s really not much to figure out with the Armourer’s Workshop mod. You use the various painting and shading tools to get the colors and gradients you want on your armor, then save the design if you like it or just scrap everything and forget about it. The whole process takes minutes, though you could conceivably spend a good deal more time creating a more complicated design. This mod is versatile and highly useful, two points which are definitely working in its favor. If you want to make armor skins, get this mod. It’s that simple.
