Audio Death is a pretty cool little mod that allows you to, in a way, customize your character’s deaths a little bit. Most Minecraft mods revolve around enhancing the gameplay in various ways, so there are pretty few that actually focus on the in-game deaths. Usually, when you die in Minecraft, the death is pretty abrupt, and this abruptness makes dying more annoying than it already is. However, the Audio Death mod remedies this issue a little bit by making in-game deaths a tad bit more engaging instead of the usually dull experiences they really are.
The Audio Death mod basically allows you to select any audio file of your preference and this audio file will play whenever your character dies in-game. It’s not really that much of a game changing feature on paper, but once you’ve used it a little bit, you’ll definitely appreciate having it installed in your Minecraft. The sound file that the mod plays needs to be located in the audiodeath folder that will appear in your Minecraft directory once you’ve installed the mod. It’s important to make sure that there’s only one sound file in this directory because there will be conflicts otherwise that will stop the mod from functioning properly. The format of the sound file should be .ogg. Formats other than .ogg can function with this mod but .ogg is recommended as it’s been fully tested.
Using this mod is pretty simple, all you have to do is place the sound file in the audio directory then start the mod, and the rest will take care of itself. If the mod doesn’t function properly the first time you try it, then all you need to do is restart Minecraft once in order to make sure that it starts up properly and then it’ll likely begin to function as its supposed to.
