Base Metals Mod

Base Metals is the kind of mod that you probably won’t ever stop using once you install it because it adds a lot of great features into the game but at the same time it isn’t that intrusive either thereby making it an excellent mod if you want to add a bit of extra variety into Minecraft but don’t want all the bells and whistles that most modern day mods come with. Base Metals basically adds a whole lot of metals into the game that you can then utilize to craft various different kinds of highly potent equipment.

The great thing about the Base Metals mod is that it adds both common realistic metals such as tin, lead, zinc and nickel but at the same time it also implements a lot of rare fantasy metals as well, for instance, mithrill, adamantine, star steel and cold iron. It’s worth bearing in mind, though, that the fantasy metals are slightly rarer so acquiring them will take an extra bit of effort, but it’s usually worth it because of how useful these metals are. Other than the basic metals, the mod also adds a lot of alloys such as brass, bronze, steel, and invar that you can craft by combining the powdered forms of the required metals and then smelting them together.

Alongside the metals and allows, the Base Metals mod also features an extremely useful tool called the Crack Hammer. The defining trait of the Crack Hammer is the fact that it can actually boost the amount of ores that you harvest by a considerable amount because it causes ores to drop powdered metals instead of the usual ore block. It’s important to note that if you’re going to use this mod on Minecraft 1.9.4 or above then, you’ll need DrCyano’s Ore Spawn alongside the mod for it to function properly.

How to install Base Metals Mod?

1. Download and install the recommended Minecraft Forge for your Minecraft version.
2. Download and install the DrCyano’s Ore Spawn for your Minecraft version.
3. Download the latest mod version for your Minecraft version.
4. Put the .jar file into the mods folder of your Minecraft installation.
