Have you ever wanted to dye your tools in Minecraft? Some people have, to be honest. It could be useful for creating color-coded teams of people in multiplayer maps, but it’s also just a nice way to make you stand out from all the other people on a server. The Colorful Tools mod allows you to change the tints and hues of your tools, much like if you were applying a new color to a piece of leather armor with the appropriate dye. At the least, this mod gives you many new applications for your (likely) burgeoning dye supply, so that’s nice.
It’s not like you need to dye all of your tools the same color either. You could run around looking like a rainbow of a man or woman with tools and armor in all different colors if you like. Also, you can change your colors anytime you wish. By combining a dyed tool with another fresh dye sample, you’ll get a new tool which is the appropriate color. For instance, if you take a green sword and then combine that with blue dye, you’ll get a sword in a sort of cyan color. The Colorful Tools mod is probably the only mod in Minecraft that necessitates having a primary color wheel on hand.
Swords were mentioned above, but to clarify, it’s not just tools that you can color using the Colorful Tools mod, Weapons like swords are also fair game and can have their colors modified by combining them with a dying agent. If you already have some experience dying leather armor, there’s literally nothing different about dying your tools with this mod. For everyone else, it’s as easy as just putting the item you want to color into your inventory crafting box (or onto a crafting table) with the color you want. Only use one dye at a time, or the game won’t know what to do.
