You know how lots of parkour maps are huge, expansive things that go off in many directions and wind around like some broken up staircase? The Compact Parkour map isn’t like that. Utilizing the most modern technology in Minecraft 1.8, it keeps all of the parkour action limited to a single arena, thanks especially to the cloning feature which is now available. The levels blend together, but they aren’t seamless; you’ll realize when you’re beating one level and starting the next as different colors and other types of jumps suddenly appear before your eyes. After dying 5 times you can jump to finished levels.
One of the best parts about the Compact Parkour map isn’t the running and jumping at all. You can actually create your own levels on the map and then share them with other players to develop a ranking system and see who is able to complete it the fastest, or with the fewest deaths, or using some other parameter. The only real problem with this map is that if someone leaves during a multiplayer session and then rejoins, the map will tell them they are on an earlier level even if they manage to spawn in where they left off. It’s a cosmetic issue really, nothing to worry about.
