Minecraft has tons of custom puzzle maps that tease the brains of the people trying to play through them. But the majority of these are crafted specifically for single player use, which makes them boring solo affairs that you play when you have nobody else around. On the other hand, puzzles like the Core map are cooperative and require multiple players working together to clear the different puzzles and make it to the end of the map. Actually, Core is impossible to beat unless you bring a friend along, since each of you will need to solve puzzles so that the other can progress farther.
Core is more than just a puzzle map though. At the end of the map there’s a pretty nasty boss monster waiting for you, but spoiling that would really be doing you a disservice. Just trust that it will be worth the time it takes to play through the map. There is some backstory as well, which is fed to the players by some command blocks as they get closer to the end of the map. It should only take you and a friend an hour or two to beat the Core map, but just make sure you turn PVP off before you start.
How to install Core Map?
- Press the Windows or Start button, then press R. This will open the Run prompt.
- Type %appdata% into the prompt and run the command.
- A folder filled with other folders will now open. Just find the Minecraft folder among these and open it.
- In .minecraft you will find another folder, saves. Unzip and move your world file into this folder and you’re all done.
