Although it might not be the most popular resource pack available seeing as how it’s still sitting at just below a thousand downloads, Cubix is a pretty high-quality resource pack that you’ll want to try out if you want to enforce the blocky look of Minecraft. The defining characteristic of vanilla Minecraft is the fact that it has a very blocky art style and the goal of most resource packs is to change this art style in order to make the world look more realistic. However, Cubix takes a completely different approach. Instead of changing the blocky art style into a more realistic one, this resource pack enforces the blocky look of Minecraft and, surprisingly enough, it leads to some pretty spectacular visuals.
One thing that we like a lot about the Cubix resource pack is the fact that its textures are some of the cleanest we’ve seen. The level of detail in the textures isn’t that high but they have absolutely no noise in them and, due to this, they look incredibly smooth. On top of all this, the Cubix resource pack also has a bright and vibrant color palette that helps elevate things to a completely different level.
It’s important to keep in mind that, even though the pack’s been out for quite a bit of time now, it’s still a work in progress so a few textures are missing from it. The Cubix resource pack has been built at a resolution of x16 and this is great for players with low-end PCs because the low resolution isn’t that taxing on hardware and this leads to high frame-rates.
