According to StorySays, the creator of the Default Enhanced PvP, the reason behind the creation of this pack is the fact that almost all of the PvP resource packs available for Minecraft tend to have strange art style that doesn’t really mesh well with one another thereby leading to a less than optimal PvP experience that players don’t necessarily appreciate. The goal of the Default Enhanced PvP is to give players access to a top quality resource pack that looks clean and offers visuals that are similar to vanilla Minecraft. We highly recommend using this pack if you frequently PvP in the world of Minecraft but want visuals that don’t go too far from the vanilla visuals of the game.
On top of cleaning up the textures by a significant amount, the Default Enhanced PvP makes a lot of clever changes to the visuals of the game and these help out quite a bit during PvP sessions. All sword and axe models have had their length shortened, and this frees up quite a lot of screen space for visibility, in-game ores have colored outlines that make them stand out, fire has been decreased quite a bit, so you’ll actually be able to see your opponent’s through it and the crosshair has been changed to a dot from a plus. Most of the changes featured in this pack are quite sound, but one change that we aren’t necessarily sold on is the dot based crosshair because it can often be hard to aim with something so tiny.
Default Enhanced PvP has a resolution of x16, so you’ll have absolutely no trouble getting it to run on a PC that supports vanilla Minecraft at stable frame-rates.
