Durability Notifier is a really small yet highly effective Minecraft mod that adds a feature which, at first, doesn’t seem all that helpful but, as it turns out, this feature can actually have a pretty large impact on your overall experience. The mod basically makes it so that the game can always notify the player somehow that the tool that they’re using is low on durability and, with this knowledge, players can make the necessary adjustments like swapping out to a different tool or repairing the one that’s running low on durability.
Features and Functionality
After applying the durability of the Durability Notifier, you’ll always have a convenient system that’ll let you know whenever your item is running low on durability. The mod can display a message or play a sound whenever your item is low and, if the mod is being used in single player mode, it’ll even give your character mining fatigue so you don’t end up breaking your tool. The mining fatigue functionality can’t be used when connected to servers, though, so it’s restricted to single player only. The Durability Notifier mod can also do something more subtle like showing you potion or sound effects and every single aspect of the mod can be customized according to your preferences thanks to the in-game configuration menu.
Compatibility and Technical Aspects
Durability Notifier doesn’t implement any major game changing functionality to Minecraft so it definitely isn’t the kind of mod that would cause performance related troubles for you. The mod’s available for Minecraft 1.11, 1.12 and 1.13 but only the 1.13 version of the mod seems to have been receiving the latest updates so it’s the clear best choice of all three.
Overall, Durability Notifier is a convenient and helpful mod that’ll make sure that you don’t end up breaking any more tools on your Minecraft journeys.
