Elveland Light Resource Pack for Minecraft 1.8.8

If you’ve ever used Elveland for Minecraft before, then you already know what to expect from the Elveland Light resource pack. It has a lot of the same textures, but it isn’t quite as demanding on a computer as the bulkier, better-looking Elveland. That’s not to say the light version looks bad though; not at all. Just like the traditional Elveland pack, you need Optifine and MCPatcher to get the most out of Elveland Light. Those add-ons allow for improved skies and some connected textures (like Windows), which would otherwise look healthy. If you don’t have those, get them before you get this.

If you want much variety in the appearance of mobs you will also need those two previously mentioned add-ons. Without them, the mobs don’t really look any different at all. Even without the extras though, Elveland Light makes Minecraft look significantly different. You can even see this just as soon as you load up a new or existing world – just look at the foliage on the trees and how thick it is, or the snow on the ground and how pure white it is, rather than a kind of dotty, scaled grayish color. Even the grass that can be broken for seeds has a pretty nice look to it.

Oddly enough, one of the best-looking textures in Elveland Light is actually the plain grass you find on some blocks of dirt. It looks fluffy almost, realistic with how uneven it is and almost good enough for you to want to take off your shoes and let it get between your toes. If only that was a thing you could do in Minecraft, at least. It’s all very impressive considering the 32x resolution used for this pack.
