Equanimity resource pack features some of the best-looking water in any Minecraft resource pack, and it manages to introduce beautiful textures to the game while maintaining an inconspicuous 32x resolution. These textures are neither too detailed nor too basic, and the creator of Equanimity himself has stated he spent roughly 5 minutes per texture to make this resource pack in less than a month, working an average of one hour per day. More than just a facelift for Minecraft, Equanimity is supposed to be a kind of inspiration to others thinking of making resource packs, to show them they can do great work even in their spare time.
That’s not to say Equanimity resource pack is ugly. It features updated textures for pretty much everything in Minecraft, with many of those textures being direct upgrades over their standard counterparts. Doors, especially iron doors, look a lot less flimsy and more like they could keep out a pounding zombie or two on hard mode. The various blocks made from 9 pieces of coal, iron, gold and so on all have a fine, metallic sheen to them, which makes them stand out a lot more when they are used for construction purposes. Some blocks, like the four types of stone bricks, are unchanged.
Equanimity resource pack is also still seeing regular updates. In a world where many Minecraft resource packs go years without seeing any new content, this is a welcome quality. It is recommended that you have either OptiFine or MCPatcher installed as well, so you can effortlessly manage your mods and not waste hours trying to figure out which one mod is stopping you from playing Minecraft with Equanimity texture enabled. These are very useful tools for people who often modify Minecraft, so don’t forget about them.
