Being exiled is no small matter. As an outcast from one community, you will find yourself exploring the remains of another as you drift around the world in the Exiled map for Minecraft. This custom map with a great backstory by the Oath Brothers is set in a special, modified Nether which exists separate from the traditional Nether. This alternate dimension features a prison – your prison. The map is all about breaking out through a number of adventure and puzzle elements, so in that sense Exiled isn’t really different from any other adventure and puzzle style map.
It’s still a unique piece of work though. For one, you aren’t actually limited to a very small area, like you normally would be on a prison map. You can get outside and explore and more than that you should, because you can find chests loaded with custom loot, powerful armor and other useful items that will help you to make it to the end alive. Apparently the Exiled map was too hard for most players though; the basic download now comes with a copy of the keepInventory mod ready to install along with the map. This will stop your equipment from burning in lava, but you don’t need to install it.
