Expandable Backpacks Mod is hands down one of the most advanced backpack based mods out there for Minecraft. There’s no doubting that there’s a considerable amount of mods that focus solely on adding different kinds of backpacks into the game so a mod like this one would seem rather irrelevant amongst all of them. However, Expandable Backpacks manages to set itself apart from the crowd by implementing multitudes of great features into the mix. Most backpack mods get repetitive after a few days of use, but this particular mod will keep surprising you with new features as you keep on using it.
The big difference between the Expandable Backpacks mod and others of its type is the fact that this mod actually comes with a lot of upgrades that you’ll get to unlock as time goes by. Most backpack based mods only add a simple backpack that you’re done with once it’s been crafted, but this actually isn’t the case with Expandable Backpacks. In order to use this mod, you’ll first of all have to craft the backpack by using Obsidian, Leather, and 2 Strings. Obsidian is a rather peculiar ingredient in a backpack recipe, and it’s hard to come by as well, but it’s definitely worth using it to craft the backpack because of all the features that you’ll have access to afterwards.
The backpack added by the Expandable Backpacks features a whole lot of compartments that you can acquire once you’ve crafted it. Compartments are basically upgrades that you can get for your pack by combining it with certain items. For example, you’ll get the soulbound compartment by combining your backpack with a nether star and this compartment will allow you to keep your backpack and all its items even after you die, implying of course that you have it equipped upon death.
