Far Cry is a bloody, brutal and violent series of games which pit single characters against overwhelming odds in remote locations where no help is forthcoming. While the Far Cry 3 resource pack doesn’t bring the nail-biting gameplay of the series to Minecraft, it does implement a number of memorable textures from the game, including skins from some members of the cast which are used to replace mobs. It should be obvious already, but this resource pack is designed to blend perfectly with the Far Cry 3 map made by the same author. That doesn’t mean it won’t look good on your other worlds though.
Used in conjunction with the map, the Far Cry 3 resource pack really can make your Minecraft gameplay feel like something from the violent FPS game series. But if you’re just using the pack, all you can hope for are a bunch of reskins, some improved textures with greater bit counts, and lots of blocks and construction pieces which have a desert island / boating / caving theme going among them. With this in mind, even if you aren’t using the Far Cry 3 map, you can still use this pack and design a map of your own based on the textures.
And that’s where the beauty of the Far Cry 3 resource pack really shines through. Using this pack to create a new and unique world with a recognizable theme could be great if you’re a map designer and looking to get some more downloads for your content. Whatever reason you have for checking it out, if you want a resource pack that’s true to the look and feel of Far Cry 3, then you’ve found it here.
