Forge Modloader for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

Forge Modloader (Not to be confused with Minecraft Forge) is an independent mod for Minecraft that helps a lot of other mods work. It aids in the installation of dozens if not hundreds of different mods, and it ensures that the mods you are using at any given time are compatible with one another, warning you if it detects that they are not. This can save you a lot of time digging through error and crash reports and trying to figure things out yourself, especially if you have many mods installed. This mod is really more of a tool than anything else.

Like other modloaders, the Forge Modloader has many specific mods which were designed to work especially well with it, as well as some mods which won’t work with it at all, regardless of what you do. Because of this, it’s hard to say that any single modloader is really the best of the bunch, but it’s common knowledge that the majority of mods for Minecraft, including the Forge Modloader, were designed to work with Forge, so it’s safe to say it is the most commonly used modloader, if not the best. If you do any modding on Minecraft, sooner or later you’ll probably want to pick up this tool.

Where do i put it tho? in the versions folder and extract or go to mods folder and extract? do i even extract it? Before mojang sold his game to microsoft my mods were absolutely fine. Then suddenly minecraft stopped working then after i fixed it mods didn’t work anymore. .-. help please?

Crashed and I have no idea why.
Yes I’ve run 1.8 once and yes I have a backup folder for all my save and yes I do use resource packs and no I don’t have any mods installed as of right now.

Ok, so like i have a slight issue and im not sure sure how to fix it. So i downloaded this lovely file and was hoping it would do what i want, which im sure it does but when i try to run the game using the FML profile, it gets an error. Now i expect mods to not work sometimes, but the error im given says “Forge: minimum version required is 11.14.0.1237” which is weird because i have the latest Forge and run it in 1.8 and has been working fine… so why is it saying Forge has an error? then tells me to look for more info in the “fml-client-0.log” file but there isnt one, only a few other numbered ones and one that says “latest” instead of 0. So i open that file and within it i found a few errors:
“[18:02:27] [main/ERROR] [FML/]: FML appears to be missing any signature data. This is not a good thing”
“[18:03:12] [Client thread/ERROR] [FML/]: The mod LunatriusCore (LunatriusCore) requires mods [Forge] to be available”

but that doesnt make any sense! both those mods were working just fine before… can anyone help me to understand what this means?

ok so installed the loader and that’s all fine, and when I loaded up MC and selected the FML profile, it said there was an error with forge…?
Forge: minimum required 11.14.0.1237

I’ve been running forge for a while now in it’s latest version in MC version 1.8, so any ideas what’s going on?

To install Forge, You must run minecraft 1.8 NOT 1.8.1 atleast once. To do this, make a new profile in your launcher that downloads minecraft 1.8 then run it. Forge Mod loader and Forge itself is yet to run in a different version of minecraft.

In other words, everytime a new version of minecraft is available, another version of forge is needed to match it.

Not sure if my previous comment went through and is awaiting moderation or what but I’m not seeing anything so I’m reposting.

I’ve downloaded the .jar file for mod loader, but when I try to run it, I get a popup error saying I must run the 1.8 version at least once. I’ve run Minecraft 1.8.1 vanilla numerous times but I’m having no luck at all. What am I missing? I tried opening minecraft.jar with the archive manager and copying the files in the mod loader .jar file over them, but that just turns minecraft.jar into the mod loader .jar effectively.

tl;dr HOW DID I GET HERE I AM BAD WITH COMPUTERS??!?!?!

Ok so first go to edit profile. Then run 1.8 NOT 1.8.1, 1.2.3, not any of those just 1.8. After that, quit the game and open the launcher once again, Go to edit profiles and scroll all the way down. You should then see Forge 1.8 (not in that exact text form but that is what it basically say). This is how I got mine to work, I hope i have helped you!-

I’ve downloaded the .jar for the mod, but when I run it and try to install the client, I get a popup error that says “You need to run the version 1.8 manually at least once.” Well, I’ve run Minecraft numerous times, and I’m running 1.8.1 so I don’t understand what the deal is with this. Can someone help?

you have to go to your minecraft launcher then press edit profile on the bottom left corner go to use version and click on it then press 1.8, launch your game and play in a server then get out and go back to 1.8.1 it should work now.
