Gliby’s Voice Chat Mod for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

Have you ever wanted to communicate through voice chat in Minecraft? There’s no doubt that talking while leaving your hands free to keep playing is a great way to talk to fellow teammates without slowing down to type. There’s actually a word for what happens when you die while physically chatting – typefrag. If you want to stop being the guy who gets typefragged all the time, you might want to check out Gliby’s Voice Chat Mod, which actually adds a voice chat feature to Minecraft. You don’t need Mumble, Vent or another third party program to voice chat in Minecraft with this mod.

This isn’t just some crappy one trick pony type of voice chat either. The mod includes several special settings for customizing your experience, including the option to make the voice chat distance based or not. If you do go for distance based voice chat, only players who are near you will hear you or be heard by you; once they are out of range they go silent and stop hearing you. This is actually a pretty cool feature and it helps to make the voice chat useful without making it broken by allowing players to conspire with each other from different sides of the world. It’s quite realistic.

By default the talk-to-speak key is set to V. The chat won’t simply remain active – you must hold down V when you want to talk to other people, though you don’t need to do anything to hear them. To use this mod online both the server and the players using it must have Gliby’s Voice Chat Mod installed. Muting nuisance players is easy enough by pressing the Options key, which is the period button by default. Overall, this is probably the best voice chat mod for Minecraft which is available today, so if that’s what you’re looking for you’ll want to download this one right away.
