Simply put, Halfcraft is a resource pack that tones down Minecraft’s default x16 textures to give players something that’s refreshing and intriguing. A lot of packs aim to increase the resolution of the textures since this usually leads to some really high detailed visuals but, from time to time, certain packs surface that somehow manage to look good even though they tone down on the level of detail and resolution of the textures and Halfcraft is among these packs. If you’re into high definition packs then you probably won’t like what this pack brings to the table but, if a high level of detail isn’t among your top priorities, you might just enjoy the distinct look that this pack brings to the table.
The best part about Halfcraft is definitely the fact that it’s extremely easy on the eyes. The pack’s color palette isn’t overly bright, and this leads to textures that don’t look overbearing. One minor issue that this pack faces is the fact that the textures seem to carry a lot of noise and this is rather surprising since it’s something that shouldn’t happen in a low-resolution pack. Fortunately, the noise issues are fairly minor and don’t hinder the overall experience all that much. Also, on top of its other features, the pack has a variety of expertly crafted 3D models as well that make things a lot more appealing.
Halfcraft has a resolution of 8×8, and it has recently been updated to function with the latest versions of Minecraft. Of course, the best thing about a resolution this low is the fact that you’ll have absolutely no troubles with frame-rate while using this pack. We highly recommend using this pack if your PC is low-end and struggles to run even the vanilla version of Minecraft.
