Hopper Ducts Mod

Hoppers are incredibly useful items that allow players to interact with storage containers without actually interacting with them. By dumping items into a hopper, they can be loaded into a chest as if the player was actually digging through the chest and stuck in the usual GUI to do so. Hoppers on chests at the bottom of long falls are great for looting the drops from players who fall to their doom, and that’s just one use. But what about moving items upward? Hoppers don’t normally do that, but you can change this with the Hopper Ducts mod, which improves hoppers significantly.

Basically, the ducts can move items in any direction you want – including up – so you can use them just like you would use hoppers. They require fewer materials to make, so they’re certainly more efficient than mass producing hoppers, which can quickly run down your supplies of iron and other resources. The Hopper Ducts mod also adds another item to the mix. The grated hopper can pass items through just like normal hoppers, but it can also be specifically told to only accept certain items while refusing to pass anything else through. It shouldn’t be too tough to figure out a way to use this to your advantage.

Fortunately, the Hopper Ducts mod works with the latest version of Minecraft, as well as all previous releases, all the way back until the first version to introduce the hopper item. If you’re using the latest version of the game, you’ll also want the latest version of Forge, since this mod was designed specifically to run through that mod manager. Using standard hoppers, ducts and the new grated hoppers, it’s possible to create an infinitely moving chain of items… and doing so could potentially cause your world to crash and refuse to reload. Don’t do this!

How to install Hopper Ducts Mod?

1. Make sure you have a running FML/Forge installation.
2. Download the mod jar file.
3. Open the mods folder in %appdata/.minecraft (Windows)
4. Just copy and paste the mod jar into the mods folder.
