Most Minecraft maps are simple to install – you just drag the appropriate file to the correct folder, load up the game and you’re ready to go. The Jurassic Park 2.0 map by Nomadic_creator is a bit more involved than that though. For starters, you’ll need a special Technic launcher installed to even get the map to work. After that there are just a few text boxes to fill with copied and pasted stuff to install a mod that works alongside the map. Once that’s all done, you move the map save file like normal and then you’ll be ready to play the map in Minecraft. This takes about 15 minutes total to set up.
Is it worth all the time and frustration? Well, if you’re a fan of Jurassic Park or just dinosaurs in general, then yes, it might just be worth the grief. This could be the largest custom map made for Minecraft, with the map based on an island being 8 km long and 2 km wide. This translates to humongous in Minecraft terms, and you can run for a solid hour without making it from one end of the island to the opposite side. There’s actually a tour which starts at the Visitor Center and rolls through most hot spots on the island, so that’s probably the best place for newcomers to start.
