Lantern is a mod that’s been built to ensure that players never have to walk through the world of Minecraft in darkness. Although many people might not recognize it, light is an extremely important resource in Minecraft because it’s pretty much impossible to do anything without it during night time. Whenever night rolls around in Minecraft, players have to use torches or other sources of light to illuminate their way if they want to do anything. However, constantly keeping up torches or other light sources can become a bit of a chore after a while and this is where the Lantern mod comes in.
The Lantern mod adds a portable lantern to Minecraft that you can take with you wherever your adventures require you to go. The lantern is a great source of light, and it’ll completely illuminate everything around you as long as you keep it with you. The best thing about the lantern is that you don’t even need to equip it in your hands for it to function. You can simply turn it on and place it in the world or on a boat if you’re traveling by sea and it’ll keep lighting up the world for you.
Of course, it’s important to keep in mind that the portable lantern from the Lantern mod requires fuel in order to burn. Adding fuel to the lantern is pretty simple because all you have to do is sneak + right click when it’s equipped in order to open its GUI. When the GUI is opened, you’ll be able to refuel the lantern as much as you want. The Lantern comes with a bit of customizability as well so if you don’t like the refueling aspect of the mod then you can disable it completely through the config and your lantern will keep burning regardless of how much fuel it has.
