The Luminescence resource pack, according to developer Consalvo, is essentially a combination of the many different forms of inspiration that he’s gotten from the various other Minecraft resource packs that are currently available. It isn’t necessarily the most groundbreaking or revolutionary pack out there but regardless of this it’s pretty well designed and shows a really high level of polish. The objective of the pack is to remain faithful to the original look of Minecraft while also refining it to a certain degree to make it look much better than it originally did. It has just over a thousand downloads and has been out for roughly five months.
Before going into any further detail about the Luminescence resource pack, it’s worth mentioning that it’s only 20% complete in its current state so you’ll definitely run into a few missing textures from time to time. However, in spite of this, it’s still completed enough to be given a trial run. The map does an excellent job of improving the original Minecraft look without altering it too significantly. The highlight of this pack is that it’s pretty much perfect in terms of its color because they aren’t too bright and nor are they too dull. The shading on the blocks is also spot-on.
The resolution of the Luminescence resource pack ix x32 which is great since it means that people with relatively low-end PCs will be able to run it without have to deal with any significant frame rate problems. It’s worth remembering though that the pack will only function on Minecraft versions 1.8.X and above so if you have an older version of the client, then you probably won’t be able to get it to run properly.
