Ex Nihilo 2 Mod for Minecraft 1.8

Skyblock is such a fun way to play Minecraft that it’s no surprise there are many imitators out there. But sometimes, those imitations manage to do enough unique stuff of their own to stand out as more of an individual map rather than just a copy of something that’s been done already. The Ex Nihilo 2 mod is actually an addition for Skyblock that alters things like world generation, all based on a world template which you can edit at any time in the mod’s config file. With a little tweaking, you could get a really interesting world on your next Skyblock run.

Before getting into many specifics, it’s crucial to mention that the Ex Nihilo 2 mod is still a work in progress. It’s so much a work in progress that it’s still in its alpha stages, and therefore it might be buggy when you play with it. The JSON which is included with the map allows you to create your own templates, then export them for sharing with other players or just saving to keep for later use. You can do this export operation by hand, or by using the Jade Astrolabe item which appears in game with this mod installed; that will automate the process for you instead.

The Ex Nihilo 2 mod changes the way you interact with many important aspects of Minecraft. For instance, the mod adds hammer tools which can be used to smash cobblestone blocks into sand, gravel and dust, all of which can be collected and then used for other purposes. Stone and wooden blocks near water will grow vines, and mycelium near water will sprout mushrooms naturally, even without any shade overhead. Little tweaks like this allow for an optimal Skyblock experience, making Ex Nihilo 2 a great add-on for the Skyblock mod.

How to install Ex Nihilo 2 Mod?

1. Download the mod!
2. When you haven’t installed Minecraft Forge yet, download and install it.
3. Move the downloaded .jar into the mods folder.
