How many food mods are there for Minecraft? Probably dozens, but that doesn’t stop people from continuing to produce new and interesting food mods for one of the most popular video games in the world. The McFood mod is just one of many different food mods available right now. It features over a dozen food items as well as a custom mob, which is actually a little strange for the average food mod. Still, implementing Ronald McDonald into a mod full of food just seems like something that should have been done already. That alone makes this mod unique.
You shouldn’t expect much from the McFood mod even if it does have a custom mob. You get burgers, fries and a few other food items you’ve probably seen in a handful of other food mods already. At least this mod comes with a config file so you can alter the values for the different foods, making them more or less filling or adjusting the saturation value as you like. The mod is simple, but it does add a great variety of food to Minecraft, which is nice if you’re sick of the same old pork chops and steaks that most players subsist on when playing.
To be honest, there are other, better food mods out there. None of the food items in McFood will give you special buffs or bonuses. On the other hand, that’s pretty common with other food mods. Since you don’t really get anything except other foods which do the same thing as the food which is already in Minecraft, you might want to just ignore this mod for now. There are updates coming and more things will be added to the mod at a later date, but it’s unclear when such a date might be at this point. Just stick with better food mods until then.
