Minecraft Vanilla HD is an expertly crafted resource pack that’s been crafted for players who want to significantly enhance the look of Minecraft while simultaneously making sure that the vanilla art style isn’t compromised in any major way. We’ve come across quite a bit of resource packs before that have been designed with a similar idea in mind but most of these packs tend to fail when it comes to the actual execution. Fortunately, though, it seems that Minecraft Vanilla HD succeeds at what it tries to do so we certainly recommend giving it a shot if you’re looking for a resource pack that’ll enhance the game’s look without altering the art style in any major way.
There’s quite a lot to like about the Minecraft Vanilla HD resource pack but perhaps the most impressive thing about it is the fact that, alongside retaining the defining art style of Minecraft, it somehow manages to implement quite a bit of extra detail into the textures. Also, on top of the detailed textures, the pack also manages to remove almost all the noise from Minecraft’s textures thereby making them look significantly smoother than they usually do. The color palette seems to be a tad bit darker than usual, though, but this seems to be a good thing in this particular case because the darker colors tend to synergize better with Minecraft’s art style.
One thing we highly recommend doing before using the Minecraft Vanilla HD resource pack is turning off the vanilla clouds in Optifine in order to fully enjoy the delightful skybox this mod comes with. The Minecraft Vanilla HD resource pack has a resolution of x64 which is a big leap from the usual x16 so you might need an above average PC to run it without frame-rate issues.
