Monarch of Madness is a custom Minecraft map about escaping from a massive castle which the player apparently owns. It follows along the same lines as other castle adventure style maps, like Herobrine’s Mansion. Like other maps of the type, it’s pretty much against the rules to break any blocks unless told to do so explicitly by a sign or book found in the castle. Of course, for players who end up trapped under floors or behind walls by a clever redstone creation, breaking a block here or there could be the difference between resuming the journey and losing hours of play time.
Monarch of Madness has only received updates going as far as Minecraft 1.8, so players will need either a custom launcher to trick the game into thinking it is an older version, or an actual, older version of the game. Besides this small modification, there should be no other mods installed, since they will invariably disturb the normal function of the map. Players are encouraged to look for the Ghost’s Rustic resource pack to use with this map, since the textures complement the build style. There are secrets to find too, which may be more readily apparent without the right resource pack enabled.
For those who enjoyed Herobrine’s Mansion map and other castle escape maps, Monarch of Madness is definitely worth a download.
