More Desserts Mod for Minecraft 1.7.10

Like the name says, the More Desserts Mod adds a number of new dessert items to Minecraft. These are edible food items you can snarf down to fill up your hunger meter like any other food. If it’s full enough, these cakes, pies and other desserts will even help you to heal lost hit points over time. The mod also adds a special Sugar Level to Minecraft. This keeps track of how much candy and other sweets you eat, and the more sugar you have in your system, the faster your character will move in-game. This is actually a very cool feature for a mod that’s packed with sugary confections.

The only bad thing about it is that since the meter is modded, when you leave your world it will be reset as if it never existed, since technically Minecraft doesn’t keep mods active when the game is off. More than just a food mod though, the More Desserts Mod also includes special mobs like the gingerbread man, and these sometimes drop special candied apples which will teleport the player to a special dessert dimension. This appears to be another world made entirely from chocolate, but there’s probably more to it just under the surface.

Chocolate of all things becomes a crafting material for tools, weapons and even armor. Chocolate armor will prevent the player from losing hunger points if they are wearing a full set, which is pretty nice. It doesn’t offer a lot of defense though, so it’s really more useful for finding a quiet place to heal after a fight than actually wearing it into battle. With dozens of new items to find, craft or construct and plenty of content to enjoy, the More Desserts Mod could be one of the best food mods available for Minecraft right now.
