If the limited scope of mobs in Minecraft has you feeling bored with combat, you need something like the Mowzie’s Mobs mod. This mod adds a number of new imaginary creatures to Minecraft, some of which are actually kind of scary to look at with their long legs and strangely shaped bodies. There are only three mobs at the time this review is being written, but the author has plans to add more new mobs as the mod is improved and developed further. These three custom mobs all have a better AI script than normal Minecraft monsters, making them much better at tracking down the player.
You can still catch these custom mobs in some of the usual traps – like moats made of lava or pistons connected to pressure plates that lock them up in a bunch of doors when they step on the plate. Thankfully they don’t all move around, so some are easier to avoid than others. The Foliaath, for instance, is a stationary plant monster which you might run into while traveling through jungle biomes. Though it can’t move, it is perhaps the most damaging of the three mobs, since it has had plenty of time to grow big and strong. This is also just the first monster in Mowzie’s Mobs mod.
You can expect to run into the Ferrous Wroughtnaut if you happen to find any underground strongholds too. These look an awful lot like the Darknut or Iron Knuckle monsters from the Legend of Zelda series. They’re big, they’re made of metal, and they carry huge axes that can quickly cut you down to size. Going back outside, the Savannah biome now has packs of tribals running together, looking for players to hunt. These monsters, the Barakoa, come with iconic masks which make them very easy to identify, even from a distance. This makes it easy to just go around them.
