The NineCubed resource pack is definitely one of the weirder resource packs out of there. It has a rather peculiar resolution of 9×9, and it tries to emphasize on the 3D aspect of Minecraft as much as possible. Normally one would expect a pack of a resolution this low to look rather lackluster when compared to the rest, but surprisingly enough that isn’t the case here because the NineCubed packed makes the game looks pretty good. The purpose of the pack is to make Minecraft look a bit more blocky and vivid while also remaining faithful to the game’s original look.
The NineCubed pack definitely excels at what it tries to do. When you apply this pack, you’ll see that the game looks a lot more blocky than usual which many might consider a flaw on paper, but it’s actually not that bad once you actually see it in-game. The blocky look stays true to the original Minecraft style and is overall very pleasing to look at. The pack also brightens up the color palette quite a bit, and this makes the whole thing much more appealing.
There are however a few things to keep in mind about the NineCubed resource pack. First and foremost is that due to its rather unique resolution of 9×9, you might run into a few visual glitches here and there. Alongside this, there’s also the fact that the pack is still a work in progress, so you notice a few blocks missing from it. Fortunately, most of the common blocks that are usually seen throughout the entirety of the game have been completed so you won’t notice have to worry about this problem most of the time.
