Oakbound Resource Pack for Minecraft 1.11

If the name of the Oakbound resource pack sounds familiar to you, then you’re probably among the wide audience of players that’s utilized the SoulBound resource pack at some point in time. SoulBound was a spectacular pack that made Minecraft quite easy on the eyes, but it was discontinued a while ago and hasn’t received any updates ever since. The pack’s discontinuation was definitely sad news for players who used it on a daily basis but, fortunately, the Oakbound pack is here to continue the legacy of the original SoulBound. Of course, it goes without saying that Oakbound is going to have a few unique characteristics of its own but, all things considered, it does an excellent job of replicating SoulBound’s visuals.

Much like the pack that it’s a continuation of, the Oakbound resource pack has visuals that look very calm and tranquil. Instead of using the same overly bright color palette that a lot of run-of-the-mill Minecraft packs use, Oakbound tones the colors down a little bit and this makes the textures look quite appealing. There’s absolutely no noise in the textures either, and this is definitely one of the pack’s biggest highlights. In terms of detail, you probably shouldn’t expect a whole from this pack because it isn’t meant to be high resolution but, regardless of this, it’s really nice to look at.

Oakbound has a resolution of 16×16 which is, of course, the same as the SoulBound resource pack. Due to the x16 resolution, you likely won’t have any trouble getting the pack to run, even on most low-end PCs. It’s important to keep in mind that Oakbound came out quite recently and is only at 35% completion right now so a lot of crucial textures are missing from it. However, these are probably going to be added through updates in the near future.
