Once in a while, a Minecraft mod comes along which adds do much content to the game, it’s like a brand new game all on its own. The Orespawn mod is one such mod, adding a number of new entities which are spawned using a number of new and different ore types, arranged in one way or another. For full details on what can be spawned and how to spawn it, you would be best served by checking the mod website for the most up-to-date information. However, even without visiting the site, it can be said that this mod works with Minecraft up to version 1.7.10.
No, the Orespawn mod doesn’t yet work with the most recent version of Minecraft, which is 1.8. But that should change soon enough with an update. Players can spawn hammerhead sharks, looting criminals, giant robot spiders, hostile squids that actually attack the player, and much, much more. Because this mod is so massive, some players are reporting crashes or other undesirable operations when they try to turn it on and then play Minecraft. This is not a mod for someone with a low-end computer – it’s very demanding and requires a lot of resources to really work properly.
