Rustic packs are very popular in the Minecraft universe. It only makes sense that, while living out in the middle of a forest or some other inhospitable environment, your home should look like it’s been beaten down and worn away by the conditions around it. The Persistence resource pack is rustic, but it also has a nice mixture of medieval elements in it, including different stone constructs, metal gates and other bits and pieces. On top of these two genres, you might also call Persistence a faithful pack, since the author tried very hard to maintain the original look of the game.
To be fair, the Persistence resource pack is still a work in progress and not close to being finished yet. None of the bosses like the wither and enderdragon have been redrawn yet, and even some more common mobs like rabbits look the same as they always have. Most of the art images have been redone so far, but there is a handful of paintings which are still the vanilla Minecraft style too. So, if you’re looking for a resource pack which is already finished, this isn’t going to be the one for you. On the other hand, if that’s not a problem for you…
The 128x resolution of Persistence means that not all players are going to be able to use this resource pack without some slowing of gameplay related to computer hardware. Drawing textures with 8x the level of detail as vanilla Minecraft puts a heavier workload on the CPU and GPU in a computer, so keep that in mind if you’re using a low-end machine to play the game. Most players should be able to use Persistence without a problem though.
