Picture in Picture Mod for Minecraft 1.8/1.7.10

There are many mods which appear to do something cool but don’t actually affect Minecraft gameplay in any meaningful way. Only the rare ones like the Picture in Picture mod actually look cool and manage to change the flow of the game. Thanks to the fact this mod can show you the world from the perspective of other players adventuring in it, it can actually allow you to sneak up on folks who are unaware you’ve been watching them. That’s just one cool aspect of the PiP mod, but there are plenty of other noteworthy points about it, all of which combine to make something unique and useful.

As far as utility mods go, Picture in Picture is perfect for server owners who want to know who is griefing the server and burning down homes or structures, or for players who want to know if anyone is poking around their homes while they’re out gathering resources and food. You can watch multiple players in this fashion, though if you put too many small pictures up in your display you won’t be able to see anything happening around you. There are configurable settings, so you can even attach the player name to the picture and that will let you know who you’re watching in any given picture.

Opening up a view is easy thanks to the simple command, /pip add Player Name. You don’t need any technical knowledge to implement or use this mod, and probably the best part about it is that it works client side, with no need to be installed on an online server for you to actually use it online, where you can sort of spy on other players. Obviously, many admins are going to consider using a mod like this on their servers as a cheating or hacking offense, and you’ll probably get banned quickly for using the Picture in Picture mod online.

  1. i love this mod, but my one complaint is that i added this one person and i forgot to remove them from a server and i forgot their name and now they’re head just sits in the corner of my screen. i was thinking if you could mabye add a system that removes all of the people you added, or add something where it shows their name when you say /pip
    anyways everything else is fine.
