Practicalities Mod for Minecraft 1.8.9/1.7.10

Don’t you just love it when your tools do more for you than you thought they could? It’s not because you did something amazing to upgrade them – it’s that they had more practical uses which you just didn’t realize until that moment in time. The Practicalities mod is sort of like a way to make Minecraft more practical and improve functions of various parts of the game. If you think of Minecraft as an oscillating tool and this mod as a new bit for that tool, then you’ll really understand the relationship between these two entities. This mod just makes Minecraft do more.

But what does that mean, exactly? For one, you can place permanent, invisible light sources using a special wand which can be crafted in the Practicalities mod. There’s also a special Earth Magnet which increases your pickup range for nearby items, all while allowing you to reach goods through walls, a thing which is normally impossible. There’s also a refinery which is like an advanced furnace. It requires more fuel to run, but it regularly doubles the ore and food output of items being cooked, so it’s worth the extra coal and lava to power for players who have plenty of both.

All of these new items and blocks are very practical – they make Minecraft more enjoyable simply by speeding up or simplifying some processes. But none of the new content breaks Minecraft by giving overpowered gear or weapons, or enchantments that make the player nigh invincible. Last but certainly not least, the Matter Transporter will make it so you never run out of room in your inventory again. Carry one around to send blocks through it, back to another transporter waiting at your base. If making gameplay faster and more fun sounds good, try the Practicalities mod.
