Purepixel’s Rubix Resource Pack for Minecraft 1.8.8

Despite sounding very similar to Rubik’s, which is the name of the infamous cubic puzzle game, Purepixel’s Rubix resource pack has nothing at all to do with teasing and twisting up your mind with near-solutions and tons of frustration. Instead, it’s just a resource pack which makes Minecraft look a lot different from how it normally does. You’ll notice a difference as soon as you see your first tree and realize that flat colors have replaced all the spaces you would normally see between the leaves. This can be a little confusing the first time you see it, but you get used to it pretty quickly.

There are some bad points about Purepixel’s Rubix resource pack though. For instance, look at the ores and gemstones when you’re mining while using this pack. Besides a different color, they all look exactly the same as each other. This isn’t really a major issue, but if you’re used to mining in low light, this may make that harder for you since it’s much harder to tell the different types of ores apart. Also, many textures are the same as in vanilla Minecraft – it doesn’t look like any of the mobs have been updated at all in this pack.

Because the textures are so simple, anyone who can play Minecraft normally without any lag or slowdown will be able to do the same with this pack installed. Purpixel’s Rubix resource pack has a low 16x resolution which makes this possible. To be honest, you’ll know within a couple of minutes whether you love or hate this resource pack. It’s also a tiny download, so there’s no reason not to look and find out for yourself.
