Reap Mod

The Reap mod is a very useful and highly convenient mod that makes the process of harvesting in Minecraft much easier and less time consuming than it normally is. In Minecraft players often have to harvest things that they’ve planted, and the problem is that this can harvesting can actually take a pretty significant amount of time, and it’s a pretty tedious activity as well. The process becomes even more tedious if you have multiple different types of things planted and have to go around harvesting everything one by one. However, with this mod, you’ll be able to perform this task with much more ease.

The Reap mod basically adds a function that allows you to directly harvest any crop with a simple click of the right mouse button. All you have to do is walk up to the crop that’s ready for harvesting, face towards it and hit the right click. This’ll save up a lot of your time that you can then use for other productive things. What’s great about the Reap mod is that it even makes trees harvestable which can be quite a useful feature in a variety of different scenarios for example when you want to clear a path towards something but trees are blocking it.

Reap mod not only works with the trees and crops of vanilla Minecraft but it also works with any that you may have implemented through mods. The mod also has a pretty handy configuration file that you can edit to configure which crops can be harvested through this mod’s method and which crops cannot. One important thing to remember before using the Reap mod is that you need to have the latest version of Minecraft Forge installed for it to work. If you’re not on the appropriate version of Forge, then you might end up running into compatibility issues.

Okay, so I got the mod working – Cuts down trees great! … But I can’t do anything with the wood. As soon as its turned to planks I can’t make a crafting table nor sticks. Obviously I’ve arranged the wood appropriately. This is the only mod that I have.

I can’t find anywhere that it’s stated in this mod’s description, but a word of warning.

The mod works perfectly, and good god, is it helpful, making clearing forests and harvesting mass farms a breeze.
The downside, is i’m unsure if it’s intentional or not, but while breaking a tree with an axe with this mod, the durability seems to be reduced depending on how many blocks of wood the tree had, meaning instead of just taking 1 durability damage, it takes so much at once that the axe can outright break from a single tree, jungle and greatspruce especially, particularly while using a stone or wooden axe.

Addendum.

For some reason, after posting my comment, I can no longer harvest trees instantly.
I’ve tried replacing the bottom log back and breaking it again, I’ve tried on hand-grown and natural trees, but they will no longer break instantly.

Crops still can be automatically harvested and replanted.
I have, no idea what could be causing this.

Figured it out.

Turns out the mod doesn’t support non-vanilla axes, which is why I could no longer break trees instantly when I got the amethyst axe from the Biomes O’ Plenty mod.
Sorry about that.

Such an awesome mod, super useful. I’m a bit let down that you can’t use the impacts of this mod on nether warts. I hope the feature will be integrated soon enough.
