SlenderCraft could be the best resource pack available for Minecraft players who are also big fans of Slenderman, the international scaring sensation created by the Internet. Well the Internet didn’t make him – the people using the Internet did. He’s an example of a sort of folklore derived by the online community and he’s pervasive too, showing up everywhere, even in Minecraft. Before you get your hopes up though, remember that this is just a resource pack. The looks of many things are changed to make Minecraft feel like a Slenderman game, but there are no new monsters or items added.
Cobblestone especially looks more worn and smooth than normal, but many textures have a weathered and exhausted look to them, which might be enough to make a few players feel apprehensive. If the SlenderCraft resource pack is managing that, then it’s accomplishing the task it was meant to accomplish. While there is no specific Slenderman mob added, you’ll quickly notice that the Enderman has been replaced with a dashing, faceless monster wearing a suit. Since they both teleport around, they are pretty similar in a sense. This also means you can avoid Slenderman by utilizing water.
Grass, trees and several other green textures look better than ever, as if they were painted into Minecraft rather than programmed. With a relatively low 16x resolution, the SlenderCraft resource pack is also usable by pretty much anyone who can play vanilla Minecraft, and that’s basically anyone who owns the game. If you were looking to design your own kind of Slender game using Minecraft, then this is definitely better than most of the other resource packs that try to create that sort of environment. At the very least, this pack is an upgrade from standard Minecraft textures.
