Sorogon’s Resource Pack for Minecraft 1.9.4/1.9

Sorogon’s resource pack is a rather stunning resource pack that’s been designed specifically to function with Minecraft versions 1.9 and above. The pack is pretty straightforward in the sense that it doesn’t try to make any major changes to the original Minecraft look but on the other hand, it does make a lot of subtle changes that enhance the game’s look quite significantly without straying from the vanilla art style in any significant way. Overall it’s a pack that you should try out if you enjoy Minecraft’s original look but feel like it could use a bit of polishing and fine-tuning in certain areas.

As mentioned earlier, most of the changes that Sorogon’s pack makes are quite subtle and you might not even notice the majority of them at first sight. However, as you play through the game a little bit after applying this pack you’ll see that most of the textures have been smoothened up quite a bit and therefore look much better than their vanilla counterparts. They’ve also been cleaned up quite significantly so you won’t find any redundant detail that would otherwise clutter them up and make them unappealing to look at. There are also various user-interface tweaks in this resource pack that make it look much sleeker.

Sorogon’s resource pack has a resolution of 16×16 which isn’t much but it’s fitting since the pack tries to stay faithful to the vanilla look of Minecraft. However, it’s worth mentioning that despite the relatively low resolution, the textures still look quite crisp and this is one of the most impressive aspects of this pack.
