The Barrow Map for Minecraft 1.8.8

Skyrim is arguably the most popular entry in The Elder Scrolls series and it’s no surprise that there are a number of Skyrim-themed maps available in Minecraft. The Barrow is one such map and it focuses on the burial sites of dead Nords and the Stahlrim they sometimes become. You’ll explore many a barrow on this map while looking for monsters, treasures and clues as to your next quest. The cool thing is, unlike the majority of other maps which draw inspiration from Skyrim, you don’t actually need to have played that game in the past to get the greatest amount of pleasure from The Barrow.

The map really isn’t that big, so if you were hoping for some vast, expansive adventure, you’re going to be disappointed with The Barrow. It does manage to include the town of Helgen, the Faklreath Barrow and some Roadside Ruins along with an iconic piece of Skyrim, the Embershard Mine. Even with only a handful of locations to explore, it will take you literally hours to trek around and visit them all thanks to the lack of fast travel in Minecraft. Maybe a mod will add that to this map at a later date but for right now, you’ll have to walk or ride just about everywhere.

How to install The Barrow Map?
