The Forgotten Land Map for Minecraft 1.8.8

Some of the best custom maps for Minecraft put players in a life or death struggle with their environment by limiting the places they can go. By trapping them in a bottle, on an island or under the sea, these maps force the player to face the challenges placed before them. The Forgotten Land is a good example of the island map type since it is technically surrounded by water on all sides. It’s a lot larger than any island you’ve probably seen before though, and there are also several smaller islands near the north and south end of the main one which are also pretty big.

Players will spawn along the west coast of The Forgotten Land when they first boot up the map. Following the river eastward will bring them to a massive mountain, with a dungeon to the north. The map actually comes with an overhead view map if you get it online, and you’ll probably need that to find your way around since the place is really huge. There are ruins, abandoned temples and other custom areas to explore, along with a few naturally occurring mineshafts and other features below the earth. This is a map you could easily get lost in for weeks.
