Wind Waker Edition is a Zelda inspired pack that’s designed with the idea of creating a resource pack that’s similar to the Super Mario pack that came out for the Wii U version of Minecraft. If you’re in the loop of resource pack releases and updates then you probably know that, some time ago, a resource pack for the Wii U version of Minecraft was released that was inspired by the Super Mario series. Shortly afterwards, that same pack was ported onto the PC version of the game. Wind Waker Edition has been designed with the same idea in mind but it’s based on Zelda instead of Mario.
Onto the details of Wind Waker Edition’s visuals, this pack is definitely one of the best quality Zelda inspired resource packs that we’ve seen in a long time. The pack does an excellent job of implementing visuals that have been taken from the hugely popular franchise but, at the same time, it also makes sure that the art style doesn’t stray too far from the vanilla Minecraft style. The textures have been designed by a fairly skilled pixel artist and while amount of detail in them isn’t necessarily anything to write home about, they still look really nice thanks to their bright color palette.
The Wind Waker Edition resource pack is x16 and, according to the creator, this resolution was chosen instead of a higher one because high-resolution textures take a lot of time to create and this would definitely have slowed down the pack’s development by a pretty significant amount. The pack can be used by itself but it’s highly recommended that you use it with Optifine because it enables various special features like the custom skybox and lightning.
