Cryptic is an incredibly creative puzzle map that’ll have you hooked from start to finish if you’re a fan of maps that challenge players and push their skills to the absolute limit. This is definitely one of the most mysterious puzzle maps out there because it doesn’t really give players much to go off of and forces them to figure things out on their own thereby increasing the difficulty even more. Its gameplay is also quite unique and is the kind that we usually don’t see in this map category so alongside providing a challenge, the map provides a refreshing experience as well.
As the name suggests, in the Cryptic Map you’ll have to solve a whole bunch of cryptic puzzles that don’t give you a lot of help and make you figure things out entirely on your own. You’ll need to collect multiple different clues to solve puzzles, and once you begin solving the puzzles, you will get access to keys that you can use to progress further and further into the map. The first few puzzles are relatively easy and don’t take that long to complete, but the ones in the later stages of the game can prove to be an absolute nightmare for those who aren’t experienced at puzzle maps. We recommend looking around in every single area of the map whenever you get stuck because there are clues everywhere, and you might just find one that’ll help you move forward.
The Cryptic map is single player only which is definitely unfortunate because this is the kind of map that’d be great fun to play alongside a friend. Onto the technical side of things, the mod seems fairly smooth as no major issues have been reported thus far. All said and done, if you enjoy being challenged, then Cryptic will not disappoint.
