Minecraft is a game loaded with repetitive tasks. Chopping wood, mining minerals, farming food and other features do help to define the game, but they can also become very boring for players who are trekking through their thousandth world or beyond. Many mods seek to automate these tasks, either by adding new blocks to work out the commands or using additional NPCs to perform the functions for the player. The Littlemaid Mod is one of the latter kinds of mods. It adds a new tameable NPC, the Littlemaid, which comes in a variety of looks, shapes and sizes, adding a little variety to the game.
While it doesn’t yet work with Minecraft 1.8.9, the Littlemaid Mod does work just fine with versions up to 1.8, so most players can still use it. The first time you see one of those little maids will probably give you a scare since they use the sound pack for the ghast monster by default. With a few adjustments and a download or two, you can give them new sounds which are more appropriate. Thankfully this mod was designed to work with MC Forge, so you won’t need to totally reorganize your stable of mods just to add this one or make it work.
Maids drop sugar and cocoa on death, but why would you ever want to kill them? They keep things tidy by picking up after you, wait for you in one place for up to a week without being fed and follow you as an escort when you wish for the company and more. If you give them a weapon, the maids will even fight for you, attacking any hostile mobs which wander too close just like wolves. Maids require many different items to be viable. The Littlemaid Mod adds tameable maids to Minecraft which can be used for a wide range of purposes.
