Anyone who can fool around in MS Paint or another pixel editor can create a resource pack for Minecraft, but that doesn’t mean their work will be any good. Urbancraft 2.0 resource pack is a big, bold and beautiful resource pack with a resolution of 256x in a field where most packs don’t quite make it to 128x, and the majority seem to be between 32x and 64x. While Urbancraft 2.0 resource pack does come in a lighter 128x resolution package, the best version is the bigger one, because a higher resolution means crisper, cleaner, clearer textures. That’s what you get from this, perhaps the best resource pack around for creating modern cityscapes.
Before you get all excited about it, there’s something you need to know. Urbancraft 2.0 resource pack was actually created solely for a contest, to see who could come up with the best looking modern resource pack. While it works great for Creative gameplay because of this, Urbancraft 2.0 was never intended to be used in a Survival setting, and it’s pretty much guaranteed to cause errors or crashes if you try using it with other resource packs, or with a number of mods. These issues show no signs of being fixed by the original author, but perhaps some fan of Urbancraft 2.0 will make the edits in the future.
That said, it’s kind of hard to review Urbancraft 2.0 resource pack. Sure, it looks great, and fooling around with it on Creative gives players a chance to make some fairly amazing structures, but that’s as far as things go with this resource pack. If you’re looking for something to use in Creative mode, you’ve found it. Otherwise you might want to stay away from this one, at least until some kinks get worked out.
