The Altered Cube resource pack has to be one of the most impressive resource packs available for Minecraft because it’s been out for close to five years now and, even today, it remains up to date and is more than capable of standing toe to toe with other resource packs of its kind. The pack’s been made to overhaul the vanilla look of Minecraft in order to give it a more futuristic feel. The pack was originally inspired by the Cube, Inc. resource pack that was designed for the Cube, Inc. map but, ever since its release, it has received quite a lot of updates that have set it apart and made it feel unique.
It’s worth mentioning that the Altered Cube resource pack doesn’t really look all that cohesive at times and this is mainly because the pack doesn’t use a single art style and, instead, looks like a mix of multiple different art styles. Fortunately, even in spite of this different art styles, the pack looks really high-quality thanks to the fact that the textures have an insane amount of detail in them and noise is pretty much non-existent. The pack also uses a bright and vibrant color palette that helps brings the textures to life.
It’s important to keep in mind that the Altered Cube resource pack is only available for Minecraft 1.8 and this is why you might need to upgrade or downgrade your Minecraft client in order to use it. The pack’s resolution is x16 so it’s unlikely that you’ll have trouble getting it to run at a stable frame-rate, even if you play Minecraft on a PC with outdated hardware.
