Is there any end to all of the resource packs spawned by Nintendo’s Legend of Zelda series? It seems that there isn’t. Every time they appear to be finished, somebody else releases another one, or Nintendo releases another Zelda game and people everywhere scramble to make new, fitting resource packs based on the latest entry in the series. This Classic Zelda resource pack will take you back to Zelda 2: Link’s Adventure from back on the NES. Fans of that game will immediately recognize familiar textures, including the cracked stone blocks which replace Minecraft’s standard stone texture.
Many valuable ores like gold and diamonds have also been modified to look more like rupees, which are the currency in the Legend of Zelda universe. This can make some ores hard to identify at a glance, but once you learn which colors have been assigned to which valuables, which should only take a few minutes, this won’t be an issue for you again. Perhaps the most glaring and obvious change made by this Classic Zelda resource pack is turning the wooden boat into a raft, which is an iconic part of the first Zelda game. Still, many of the textures come from the second game on the NES.
Many of Minecraft’s mobs also get a facelift from the Classic Zelda resource pack. For instance, zombies become the linen-wrapped Gibdos of Zelda lore. Other hostile mobs look like other monsters from the Legend of Zelda franchise too. You’ll be seeing lots of familiar faces in this resource pack if you’ve played the older Legend of Zelda games, but sadly there isn’t a lot of content here which can be drawn to the newer titles.
