The Purplegem PvP resource pack is the very first resource pack by TeamDisco and, for a first release, it definitely manages to impress because it’s quite a few steps above all the other traditional PvP resource packs we’ve seen over the years. The pack manages to combine the standard PvP optimizations with a few high-quality visual elements in order to make for a PvP experience that’s not only visually impressive but also quite smooth in terms of performance. We definitely recommend using this pack if you frequently PvP in Minecraft but don’t necessarily want to downgrade your visuals in order to enjoy smoother Player vs Player sessions.
There are lots of things that define the Purplegem PvP resource pack but perhaps the most important aspects of the pack are its custom built elements. The pack features tons upon tons of custom animations, a completely redesigned sky, new armor designs, dwarf swords and, on top of all this, it even has a custom user-interface for players to enjoy. You won’t notice a drastic improvement to the game’s visuals when you utilize this pack but you’ll still find that the game will look significantly better than it does with most traditional packs.
The Purplegem PvP resource pack has a resolution of x32 and this slightly higher than usual resolution is one of the key reasons behind the pack’s higher quality textures. As far as performance goes, it’s quite likely that you’ll be able to utilize this resource pack without any trouble as long as you have a computer that can run vanilla Minecraft at a stable frame-rate. All said and done, Purplegem PvP is a fantastic resource pack that allows players to enjoy great visuals as well as smooth PvP sessions so it’s definitely worth installing if you frequently participate in duels against other players.
