Before we go into any major detail regarding the Autumn Overlay, it’s important to note beforehand that this isn’t really meant to be used as a standalone pack. As its name suggests, it best acts as an overlay to an already applied resource pack and manages to enhance the look of the game quite a lot when used. The pack’s been designed to add the Autumn season look into Minecraft, and although it’s recommended that you use it alongside another pack, Autumn Overlay will still work just fine if you use it with vanilla Minecraft, however, it probably won’t make any drastic changes to the visuals.
The primary changes made by the Autumn Overlay are directed towards Minecraft’s leaves and vegetation. Each and every biome has basically been given an Autumn themed makeover. Birch has been changed to Yellow, Spruce has been changed to Faded, Oak has been changed to Orange and Dark Oak has been changed to red. Other than the vegetation changes, there are also a lot of subtle changes elsewhere in the game world that probably won’t notice at first sight, but they’re still there and improve the game’s look tremendously.
The textures of the Autumn Overlay resource pack have a resolution of 16×16 and this low resolution coupled with the overlay style of this pack means that you’ll be able to use Autumn Overlay without any difficulties or frame-rate drops even if you’re playing Minecraft on an outdated or low-end machine. As far as completion goes, Autumn Overlay is sitting comfortably at a hundred percent so missing textures won’t be an issue.
