The Fragile Glass is a very convenient mod that’s been designed to remedy the fact that the glass in Minecraft doesn’t necessarily behave like glass is supposed to. Normally in any game, when a large amount of force is applied on any glass-based object then it tends to crash or break, but that isn’t the case in Minecraft. The glass in is actually quite sturdy, and while this is useful in a variety of different scenarios, it takes away a bit from the realism of the game. Fortunately, you can fix this entirely by utilizing the Fragile Glass mod.
It’s important to remember that the Fragile Glass mod doesn’t completely replace the in-game default glass which is actually great for people who use it frequently. Instead, what it does is that it implements another type of glass known as Sugar Glass, and this Sugar Glass behaves like you’d expect real world glass to. It cracks when a significant amount of pressure is applied on it either directly or through a projectile and can be seen through since it’s mostly transparent. In order to craft Sugar Glass, you need to put a block of sugar in some boiling water that’s present inside a cooking furnace. After some time, this mixture will turn into 16 pieces of sugar glass.
Alongside Sugar Glass, the Fragile Glass mod also implements thin ice that functions much like Sugar Glass does but looks like ice. This ice block can come in quite handy when you’re trying to make an icy environment but lack the necessary blocks to do so. Although the ice looks slightly different, it functions exactly like Sugar Glass so it’s just as fragile and won’t be able to withstand any significant amount of force. Overall, this is a pretty solid mod that you can use to add an extra bit of realism to your Minecraft experience.
